Italy - AGCOM publishes questionnaire to assist in its public consultation on digital platforms The Italian Communications Authority (“AGCOM”) launched a public consultation in September 2015 concerning “the development of digital platforms and electronic communications services” (Resolution 357/15/CONS – “Consultation”). In line with this, AGCOM has recently published a questionnaire to aid companies interested to participate in the Consultation. The Consultation has been launched by AGCOM due to the major changes in the ways and alternatives of using content and services, which have brought about the development of new business models. Thus, the Consultation has the main goal of giving AGCOM any useful input to explore possible regulatory actions which may be necessary to ensure the promotion of a sustainable competition, network development and innovation and consumer protection. The new questionnaire published by AGCOM has the purpose of simplifying the process for companies interested in filing opinions in relation to the subject matter of the Consultation. Any input should be filed by companies on or before 10 January 2016. A request for a hearing may also be filed with AGCOM. For more information please contact Andrea Mezzetti and Saverio Ligi.
