On 19 September 2012, Fiona Muldoon, Director of Credit institutions and Insurance Undertakings in the Central Bank of Ireland (the Central Bank) made a presentation on current trends in financial services regulation, at the offices of A&L Goodbody. The presentation contained some interesting statistics in relation to insurance. Of particular interest were the numbers of domestic and international insurers which had been rated under PRISM (Probability Risk and Impact SysteM) as high, medium high, medium low and low. These were 13, 24, 82 and 149, respectively.
