As noted in yesterday's news, Parliament resumes next week. The draft program for the Senate is now available. The following Bills are scheduled for debate in the Senate next week:
- Tax Laws Amendment (Research and Development) Bill 2013 which proposes to deny access to the research and development (R&D) tax incentive for companies with aggregated assessable income of $20 billion or more for an income year
- Customs Amendment Bill 2014 which proposes a number of technical amendments to the Customs Act 1901, and
- Treasury Legislation Amendment (Repeal Day) Bill 2014 which, among other things, proposes amendments to repeal the payslip reporting provisions, consolidate duplicated tax administration provisions including a repeal and rewrite of the ATO's information gathering powers for income tax purposes, move the content of certain regulations into the Income Tax Assessment Act 1936 or Taxation Administration Act 1953, and rewrite provisions which define “Australia” for income tax purposes.
