In April, the Ethical Property Foundation published 'Charity Property Matters', which followed its survey of property issues in the charity sector. The survey focused on charities south of the border, but the issues which came up are just as relevant in Scotland.  The headline figures report that 40% of those charities surveyed consider their building to be their greatest risk, yet 47% seek advice from informal contacts and only 37% obtain professional advice.  The report concludes that the reasons why charities fail to seek professional advice is due to cost and that the 'right sort of advice is hard to find'.
