Sens. Barbara Boxer and John Kerry will introduce their version of climate change legislation next Wednesday. Details of the bill are not yet known, but Sen. Kerry refrained from referring to it as a cap and trade bill and instead declared it a pollution reduction bill. The current schedule for the bill may include a number of hearings in early October, and the Environment and Public Works Committee markup of the bill will begin the week of either October 12 or 19. Whether other committees will mark up the bill has yet to be determined.
