In the last week, a number of our clients have contacted us in regards to the legitimacy of unsolicited trade mark renewals notices from an overseas agency called ‘PTMO’.
‘PTMO’ appears to be charging exorbitant rates to renew trade marks, so we ask that you notify us before any payment is made and destroy the notice.
If you receive any communication about your IP case from anyone other than:
- Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand (IPONZ),
- World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO),
- Your appointed IP professional,
you should treat the correspondence with caution.
