The legislation regulating employment agencies and employment businesses does not currently specify where job vacancies must be advertised.  Following concern that agencies and employment businesses were advertising UK jobs in other EEA countries, without giving British workers the opportunity to apply, the Government launched a consultation in July 2014 to prohibit this practice.  The response to that consultation was published on 11 November and it has been announced that the ban will be implemented.

It is expected that the new Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses (Amendment) Regulations 2014, which will insert a new regulation 27A into the Conduct Regulations, will be in force by 31 December 2014.
