The Ontario government recently introduced to the legislature Bill 160, Strengthening Quality and Accountability for Patients Act, 2017. The bill provides for amendments and/or additions to ten pieces of legislation in Ontario, including:

  1. Health Sector Payment Transparency Act, 2017
  2. Ambulance Act
  3. Excellent Care for All Act, 2010
  4. Health Protection and Promotion Act
  5. Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007
  6. Medical Radiation and Imaging Technology Act, 2017
  7. Ontario Drug Benefit Act
  8. Ontario Mental Health Foundation Act
  9. Oversight of Health Facilities and Devices Act, 2017
  10. Retirement Homes Act, 2010

The bill was introduced on Thursday, September 27, 2017 as part of the province’s Patients First: Action Plan for Health Care.
