ESMA is consulting on a set of Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) that CRAs must meet to fulfil the requirements of the CRA Regulation. The standards relate to:

  • information a CRA must provide when applying for registration and certification, and to help with assessing the systemic importance to the financial stability or integrity of financial markets;
  • presentation of required information, including structure, format, method and period of reporting;
  • compliance of CRAs with the requirements on credit rating methodologies; and
  • the content and format of ratings data ESMA requests from CRAs as part of their periodic reporting for its ongoing supervision.

ESMA asks for comment by 21 October. (Source: ESMA Consults on CRA Standards)
