On March 9, 2009, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) will release a list of 5,000 supply and service federal government contractor establishments to its regional offices for the scheduling of compliance reviews. Regional offices will use the lists to schedule compliance reviews through September 30, 2009.
OFCCP will mail Corporate Scheduling Announcement Letters (CSAL) to the CEO (or designated point of contact) of each parent company with two or more establishments on the scheduling lists. Because the CSAL goes to the CEO or other point of contact, there is often a delay getting the notice to the proper person in the human resources department, compliance department and/or legal department. We recommend that clients advise their CEO's office and facility managers that they may be receiving a CSAL within the next few weeks so that there will be no delay in forwarding the letter to the proper person.
Establishments that are identified in the CSAL should immediately begin to prepare for the compliance evaluation that will be scheduled at a later date via a Scheduling Letter. Once the Scheduling Letter is received, the establishment will have only 30 days to submit copies of its affirmative action plans and other supporting documentation requested in the letter.
