FSA has banned Zia Chowdhury. It found he certified client identities for fraudulent mortgage applications. He said documents were true copies but did not check the originals, and submitted applications when he must have suspected they contained false information and were possibly fraudulent. He also knowingly carried out controlled functions at his firm without being approved to do so.
