Earlier this month, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) hosted a kickoff for Energy Action Month “to raise awareness about energy conservation” and to “highlight it hitting $1 million in rebates from the Dayton Power & Light Company,” the Dayton Business Journalreports. The base achieved the rebate through energy-saving initiatives put in place over the past several years, “including the ‘UnPlug It’ campaign,” according to the article. DP&L President and CEO Tom Raga said DP&L was honored to recognize WPAFB’s achievement, saying, “Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is a leader when it comes to the defense of our country, and is taking action to protect the environment by adopting these energy-saving measures base wide.” Col. John Devillier, commander of the 88th Air Base Wing, said, “Energy Action Month highlights what we have been doing all year to conserve energy and cut costs. We are excited to reach our one million dollar rebate from DP&L. For every dollar we save in energy reduction, we can reallocate to other important areas of our mission.” For more, read the full article
