Peru - Implementing rules issued for law promoting innovation and technology transfer
through use of patent information
On 19 March 2016, the Peruvian Executive Branch enacted the implementing rules for the law that
encourages the use of patent information to promote innovation and technology transfer. Under such
rules, the Peruvian Patent Office will be in charge of: i) organizing, updating, sustaining and
promoting a free data base on technology once patented but currently free for use; ii) issuing bulletins
on technology aimed to develop innovation and competitiveness of medium and developing
companies, and the relevant market sectors; and, iii) providing training on the use of the free data
base developed by the Office.
