The Court of Appeal rejected the claimant’s application for an extension of time for filing its notice of appeal, which was made seven and a half months late, and for permission to appeal. There has to be good reason for extending time and it would be exceptional to find good reasons where the delay exceeds two months. Difficulties in securing funding did not constitute a good reason for the delay in this case (Cassa Di Risparmio Della Repubblica Di San Marino Spa v Barclays Bank Plc).
