The parties involved in the Disability Support workers' sleepover litigation have agreed to discontinue the proceedings in the Supreme Court after reaching settlement. Under the settlement agreement, the Government will contribute $90 million over three years to assist employers to pay the minimum hourly wage to workers for sleepovers. The Government will also contribute $27.5 million toward back pay liabilities to past and present employees who will be paid at 50% of the appropriate minimum wage for the period 1 July 2005 – 30 June 2011.
