Earlier this week the Energy Information Administration (EIA) released its study on the Bingaman-Specter Climate Change bill. Of note in the report is the fact that energy prices would increase under the bill. However, the prices would not increase as much if new energy technologies that produce little or no CO2 and other GHG's are deployed. These technologies include "clean coal" and nuclear power plants.
EIA also announced that they plan to study the Lieberman-Warner bill that should reach the Senate Floor in the first half of this year. They have not started their study, but expect to have it completed by the end of February.
