On 8 July 2013, the Association of British Insurers (ABI) published a report titled "Identifying the Challenges of a Changing World". The report identifies seven key challenges facing the UK insurance industry. These include (a) the digital revolution, (b) recovery of western economies after the financial crisis and (c) interventionist regulation. Interestingly, the ABI noted that regulators risk creating new systemic risk if their behaviour is influenced too heavily by the recent economic crisis.
