Internet gambling is coming to New Jersey. Last month, the Governor of New Jersey signed a law that allows Atlantic City casinos to offer Internet gambling under certain circumstances. New Jersey’s Division of Gaming Enforcement will be responsible for implementing the law and issuing licenses. Significantly, gamblers must be present in the Garden State to roll the dice. New Jersey follows Nevada and Delaware in allowing online gambling. The law will take effect once the Division sets a start date, which must be between three to nine months after the date of enactment. Additionally, the law will expire 10 years following the establishment date, unless reauthorized by law.
