The Attorney General has announced that the United Nations (UN) has commended Australia for its comprehensive and proactive anti-corruption arrangements. The comments follow a review, conducted by a team of experts from the USA and Turkey, which found that Australia was fully compliant with chapters III and IV of the UN Convention against Corruption. The Attorney General said that feedback from the review will inform the National Anti-Corruption Plan (see above) and help ensure the Commonwealth continues to have appropriate systems in place to combat corruption at a national and global level.
