The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), the UK’s advertising watchdog, has published a report into its application of the UK advertising codes to gambling advertising. In its assessment of the increasing number of cases against gambling adverts, the ASA has, among other things, called for “continuing scrutiny” of free bets and other promotional offers.

The ASA report is one of four reviews commissioned by the UK government to investigate the current regulation of gambling advertisements.
