On 1 September 2011, the National Insurance Superintendence of Argentina ("Superintendencia de la Nación de Argentina") confirmed that the new reinsurance regulations have come into force, where only seven companies met the requirements and another six have started the formalities to meet compliance. The new regulations forbid Argentinean insurers to reinsure directly with foreign companies.
