FSA has created a new webpage dedicated to implementation of the AIFMD, and has also published a survey which it wants UK AIFM to complete. It says the results will help it better understand the potential number, nature and timing of applications it will receive for AIFMD authorisation. It notes the concerns of UK firms that, although transitional provisions will allow them to operate for 12 months while their licence is being updated, they may need AIFMD authorisation before they can use the AIFMD marketing passport. It also notes some Member States may allow marketing without the passport during this transitional period. FSA wants UK AIFM to respond to the survey by 28 March. (Source: AIFMD – UK AIFM Survey)
