The Central Bank has eased requirements under the Professional Investor Fund (PIF) regime. The PIF regime governs funds which meet minimum subscription requirements and so may be granted derogations from some of the Central Bank's conditions and restrictions , in particular those related to investment and borrowing. The minimum subscription amount for a PIF has been reduced from €125,000 to €100,000. The change takes immediate effect so that new funds can avail of the revised regime, while existing funds who wish to avail of the revised regime are likely to require amendment of their documentation in order to reflect the new requirements.
