According to the new regulation, employees who have adopted children or applied to a common court for adoption, or have decided to be foster carers – except for professional foster care – shall have the right to leave on the terms of maternity leave, provided that the children are not older than seven years of age. The same rules to determine the length of leave apply in case of adoption and ordinary maternity leave. Similarly, some of the changes will be finally binding from 2014.
