This is our final e-bulletin of the year for the Asia EPI team – what a lot has happened in the employment law space in a year across the region! To round off the year nicely, we are delighted to announce our Band 1 ranking in Chambers & Partners for the International Employment Law category (Singapore). A big thank you to all our clients and supporters who helped make this possible.

Our bulletin this month covers a number of interesting updates. We consider China’s proposed new laws to enhance protections against sexual harassment here. Over in Japan we consider the new bill passed by Japan’s parliament to open its doors to more blue collar foreign workers. Read more about that here. We also take a look at proposed changes to discrimination laws in Hong Kong; you can read more about that here. Our compliance check focusses on Singapore’s take on indirect restraint of trade clause and forfeiture. Read about that here. Finally, over here you can access our cross border article which considers restraint of trade provisions across the region.

For those of you who missed the special update on the renewed focus on compensation to address misconduct risk within financial institutions, you can access that article here.
