In a communication of 28 April 2017 (no. 79), the National Institute for Social Security (INPS) has given directions about an employee's obligations in relation to medical certificates which attest their temporary inability to work. In particular, INPS has clarified that, where an employee's sickness is for a shorter period than was previously indicated in a medical certificate (because they recover more quickly), the employee is mandatorily required to request a correction of the medical certificate.
