Shanghai implements new minimum salary standards as of April 1, 2014. The minimum monthly salary is raised from RMB 1,620 to RMB 1,820, with an increase of 12% from the previous year; the minimum hourly salary is raised from RMB 14 to RMB 17, with an increase of 21% from the previous year.

The above minimum salaries do not include overtime pays, subsidies for middle/night shift, special work conditions, the employee’s share of social insurance premiums and housing fund contributions, meal subsidy, transportation subsidy, housing subsidy, etc. The minimum hourly salary does not include the employee and the employer’s share of social insurance premiums.
