Apologies for the frequent posts on this topic. As I stated in my first post, usually I do not post on proposed legislation until it becomes near final because of the certainty of future changes. Well, I should have followed my own advice. Yesterday, the House Ways and Means Committee approved the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (H.R. 1), with the most significant change being the deletion of the provision that would have made nonqualified deferred compensation taxable as soon as it vested. However, also yesterday, the Senate released its version of the legislation, which includes this provision (as well as the revisions to Section 162(m)).
