ICO announced the courts have fined a former employee of Barclays Bank £3,360 for breaches of the Data Protection Act after she illegally accessed details from a customer's account and passed on the information to the customer's then partner. The former employee had agreed Barclays had told staff they must not access secure information unless required but said she had decided to do so anyway. Barclays fired the employee after the customer complained. (Source: ICO Announces Fine for Illegal Account Access)
