Several members of Congress, including Dave Loebsack (D-Iowa) and Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore) recently introduced a bill that would extend the production tax credit (PTC) and other expired clean energy incentives, reports nawindpower.com. H.R.5559, the Bridge to a Clean Energy Future Act of 2014, “would extend critical incentives for two years in order to provide market certainty, strengthen investment, and make sure clean energy is on an even playing field with the fossil fuel industry,” according to the article. Loebsack stated, “The continued expiration of the PTC causes slow-downs at manufacturing facilities and could lead to additional layoffs.
