The National Toxicology Program (NTP) is seeking public comments on an international scientific panel report that endorses a cellular test designed to detect endocrine disruptors over other accepted test methods. 76 Fed. The panel met in March 2011 to evaluate results of an international study in which laboratories in the United States, Italy and Japan used the cellular test and compared test protocols and results. The panel found some advantages to the test in comparison with other tests, including its ability to detect chemicals that suppress or inhibit estrogen. Public comments will be accepted until July 5, 2011.
