As previously reported, Service Canada/HRSDC introduced Regional Occupations Lists which set out occupations in specific provinces that are deemed to be in short supply. Employers seeking LMOs for the listed occupations only have to do limited advertising to prove to HRSDC that there are no Canadians available for the position.
Occupations Under Pressure lists for Manitoba, Nova Scotia and Quebec have now been created. The lists for Alberta and B.C. have been amended. Ontario is the other province with a list. As labour market pressures change, these lists will continue to be amended.
