The government has published the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Market Abuse) Regulations 2016, which make a number of amendments to FSMA 2000, and to other primary and secondary legislation, for the purposes of implementing MAR. The Regulations differ in a number of respects from the draft version published for comment by HM Treasury in December 2015 and come into force on 3 July 2016. Those provisions relating to OTFs and SME growth markets will apply from 3 January 2018 i.e. from the new application date of MiFID II.
