A new report titled "A Bright Future for the Heartland" issued by the Union of Concerned Scientists concludes there are "practical and affordable" ways to help revitalize the Midwest's economy and ensure a clean, safe and reliable power supply. The report notes that Ohio could create 14,000 new jobs--in addition to the ones created under Ohio's existing energy policies--by 2030 through investments in clean energy. Those investments could yield $670 million in new annual income and $500 million per year in new gross state product.
