A mortgage broker has been censured for breaching Principle 9 in relation to its sales of self-certified mortgages: it could not demonstrate that it obtained sufficient information to assess affordability or that it considered the plausibility of or checked information provided (FSA final notice - Mortgages Remortgages Limited, 23 March 2009).
