The Pensions Regulator (TPR) has published a report on scheme funding based on valuations from 2005-2006 and 2006-2007. The report also contains data on clearance applications.

In its report TPR highlights the fact that the recovery plans discussed in the report were in most places set in “economically benign circumstances”. TPR’s chairman has however stated that “trustees should not over-react in the face of the downturn, but should ensure they are active and alert to potential changes in the health of the sponsor, and to the funding level of the scheme.”
