Do you have any reason to object to the release of the former landlord from their covenants under the lease?
Are there any outstanding breaches of the lease which the former landlord has failed to remedy?
Have you brought any such breaches to the attention of the former landlord prior to the transfer of its interest to the new landlord?
Do you know the identity of the new landlord?
Do you have any concerns regarding the ability of the new landlord to comply with its covenants under the lease (e.g. financial concerns)?
Have four weeks passed since the date of the landlord's request for release?
Seek legal advice on the validity of the notice under the Landlord and Tenant (Covenants) Act 1995.
Seek legal advice on your ability to formally object to the release request if appropriate.
