The Federal Communications Commission’s Wireline Competition Bureau (Bureau) has announced that there is sufficient funding available for the 2019 funding year to meet the Universal Service Administrative Company’s (USAC) demand for E-Rate requests. The funding cap for this year, $4.15 billion, will enable USAC to fully fund all eligible category one and category two requests for E-Rate supported services.

USAC had submitted a demand of $2.896 billion for category one and category two services for the 2019 funding year. The Bureau, in addition to being able to fund the original request, was able to carry over $1 billion in unused funds from previous funding years to meet demand for E-Rate services.
