In brief

Presidential Decree No. 4.310 of 15 September 2020, effective as of that date, declared the conclusion of SIEX’s suppression process (“Decree”).1 The Executive Vice President, the Ministries of the Public Power of Planning; of the Economy, Finance and External Commerce; and for Tourism, are in charge of enforcing the Decree.


  1. Supression. The Decree declared the conclusion of SIEX’s suppression process, ordered by the Fourth Transitory Disposition of the Decree with Rank, Value and Force of Law of Foreign Investments.2
  2. De-incorporation. As of 15 September 2020, SIEX will be decommissioned as an integrated administrative unit of the structure of the Ministry of the Public Power for the Economy, Finance and External Commerce, ending all functions.
  3. Commissioned entities. The Ministry of the Public Power for Economy, Finance and External Commerce, the Ministry of the Public Power for Tourism and the National Center of External Commerce (CENCOEX), will jointly resolve any pending matter regarding the suppression of SIEX.
