The FCA has published a recent speech by the FCA Chair on global regulation in the post-crisis era. Questions considered by the FCA relate to: (i) what is the industry’s strategy in the post-crisis, post-Brexit era; (ii) what can regulators learn from the past about successful regulatory policy and its relationship with other global authorities; and (iii) how important will conduct be in the future. The speech concludes that it is now the time for some exceptional teamwork between the government, the industry and the regulators to create a wholesale marketplace for the future that continues to meet the needs of both domestic and global users.
