The Treasury has called for potential inquiry topics that could be conducted by the New Zealand Productivity Commission between 2013 and 2014. The Commission has a broad mandate to improve productivity in a way that supports the overall wellbeing of New Zealanders. Previous topics of inquiry have included international freight transport services and housing affordability. The Commission is currently inquiring into local government regulation and economic relations between Australia and New Zealand.

Suggestions for the Commission can be submitted here or emailed to, by 28 September.
