The BIS Committee on Payment and Settlement Systems (CPSS) and the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) have published the final version of their report on authorities' access to trade repository (TR) data. The report notes it is essential for several authorities and financial institutions to have access to certain data held by TRs while complying with confidentiality and data protection laws. The report gives guidance to TRs and authorities on the principles that should guide authorities' access to data held in TRs for typical and non-typical data requests. It also suggests approaches for dealing with procedural and legal constraints to data access and confidentiality concerns. (Source: BIS and IOSCO Finalise TR Data Report)
