FCA and the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) have written to firms licensed under the Consumer Credit Act (CCA) advising them to check urgently that their details held by OFT are correct and that they hold the licences they need. Otherwise, the letter warns that firms risk being unable to benefit from the "interim permission" regime when consumer credit licensing transfers to FCA, and may as a result be carrying on regulated activities illegally from April 2014.
