The Commission has published a set of FAQs on the new supervisory architecture agreed by Parliament (see Parliament below). It welcomes some improvements on its original draft. The note also looks at the need for a single rulebook, which the new authorities can achieve by technical standards that iron out differences between national regulators. Michel Barnier, welcoming the vote, stressed the new supervisors would not replace national supervisors but would work with them to share experience and find European solutions when problems need them. CESR, CEBS and CEIOPS also welcomed the vote.
