“The Carbon Capture and Storage Early Deployment Act,” was introduced yesterday in the House. The bill is a bi-partisan measure led by Rep. Boucher. The bill is very similar to a measure introduced last year, which was sponsored by Reps. Boucher and Upton, H.R. 6258. It will create a $1 billion annual fund for the development and commercialization of carbon capture and storage technology. The fund would be established using fees paid by members of the coal, oil and natural gas industries.
