In a letter to the Second Chamber, the Minister of Finance outlined his legislative plans for the financial markets. The letter includes an update on the following draft legislation:

  • implementation of Directive 2007/44/EC on holdings in the financial sector – bill has been submitted to parliament
  • implementation of Consumer Credit Directive – bill is ready for plenary discussion in the Second Chamber
  • implementation of Finality Directive and Directive on Financial Collateral Arrangements – bill has been submitted to parliament
  • implementation of UCITS Directive – bill expected to be submitted in December 2010
  • implementation of amendments to CRD Directive – to be discussed in the Cabinet in November 2010
  • implementation of E-money Directive – to be discussed in the Cabinet in December 2010 o implementation of Solvency II Directive – bill being drafted
  • bill for Financial Markets Amendment Act 2010 – the bill is ready for plenary discussion in the Second Chamber
  • bill amending the Securities Transfer by Giro Act – bill is ready for plenary discussion in the Second Chamber
  • bill of Financial Markets Amendment Act 2012 – on the agenda of the Second Chamber for November 2010
