ESMA published its second risk dashboard for 2014. The risk dashboard provides a snapshot of risk issues in the period from 1 January 2014 to 31 March 2014 (unless indicated otherwise). Of particular interest, ESMA looks at:

  • Systemic stress.
  • Liquidity risk.
  • Market risk.
  • EU contagion risk.
  • Credit risk.

Regulation 1095/2010 established ESMA and requires that it monitor and assess market developments in the area of its competence and, where necessary, inform the European Banking Authority (EBA), the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA), the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB), the European Parliament, the Council of the EU and the European Commission about the relevant micro-prudential trends, potential risks and vulnerabilities.
