Merchandise treatment according to the deep integration process Guatemala-Honduras
On January 29th, 2018, the Ministry of Economy resolved, through the Ministerial Agreement number 51-2018, to modify that the merchandise that enjoys free circulation would be regulated exclusively in accordance with the Regulation for the Operation of Deep Integration to Free Transit of Goods and Natural Persons between the Republics of Guatemala and Honduras.
In attendance to this resolution, the treatment for the merchandise would be as follows:
- Merchandise exempted from free circulation and that comply with the requirements to be considered as originated from Guatemala and Honduras, specifically for export or import operations between both countries, traders shall continue using the Central American Single Customs Form ("FAUCA").
- Merchandise exempted from free circulation that is originated in a third country, for export or import operations between Guatemala and Honduras, may continue using the Declaration Custom Form ("DUA-GT").
- For merchandise that is considered in the free circulation goods category in the operations between Guatemala and Honduras, they shall use FYDUCA for the transfer and acquisition operations.
The Ministerial Agreement 51-2018 entered into force on March 1st, 2018.
