The Fair Trading Amendment Act 2013, which was enacted as part of the consumer law reform changes at the end of last year, has a number of provisions which come into effect on 17 June 2014.
The Commerce Commission is publishing a series of fact sheets to assist businesses understand the changes to the Fair Trading Act and what businesses need to do to comply with those changes. To date the Commission has published fact sheets on:
- Unsubstantiated representations;
- Contracting out of the Fair Trading Act;
- Extended warranties;
- Door-to-door and telemarketing sales; and
- Unsolicited goods and services.
