In a final rule published on August 20, the Environmental Protection Agency revised calculations used by electronics manufacturers when reporting greenhouse gas emissions. The revisions, which provide a range of methods including default utilization and byproduct formation rates as well as stack testing, are designed to better reflect business practices. The rule was first proposed in October 2012. The final changes will take effect in January 2014.
